Hello Community!

We are having an issue where Spiceworks doesn’t load on a reboot of the server it is housed in. The service starts fine with out any issues, but I have to manually log into the server and open the “Spiceworks Desktop” shortcut for the website to come to life.

Is this by design or is there something broken?

Please let me know you would like more information, I am including some technical information below.

Thank you,

Brian

Hi Yasaf,

I have this already setup and it isn’t working that way. I still have to log into the server and manually start Spiceworks via the shortcut “Spiceworks Desktop”. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Brian

once loaded if you right click the sw icon and the preference is it all filled out to start as a service??

sometimes the username and password go for a walk

Hi Peter,

I have attached a picture of the “preferences” screen. Please note that I have changed out our actually account information for dummy info, for security sake. I re-inputted the password so I will reboot the server shortly to see if this makes a difference.

Thanks,

Brian

just make sure something else is not running on those ports or at least starting up at the same time

try 9675/9676 ports if this works then you may need to search through the machine to find what’s conflicting

Hi All,

I would like to thank everyone for their time in this matter! Re-inputting the password fixed this problem.

Thank you again!
