We are using 4 instances of spiceworks helpdesk system. however since last 4 hours, all 4 instances would not start no matter what. no changes were done and no event logs. the service would just not start. also the community does not connect on those machines too. www.spiceworks.com also does not open. this has never happened before. i even restarted the service and the whole server. checked firewall rules. no changes what so ever. currently spiceworks is working on port 80. there are no other services running on that port.

please help.

www.spiceworks.com works for me.

Do you have spiceworks installed as a service? If so, what happens when you start the service?

Can you ping 8.8.8.8 from one of the affected machines?

Can you ping www.google.com from one of the affected machines?

Hello Gary,

Thank you for replying. i figured the problem. the system was internet facing. as soon as i stopped internet, spiceworks started loading. i am not sure why it took almost 2 hours to load. this has never happened before. the system was always facing internet for connecting to community and for updates. it could be the load on the tickets and its attachment. there were no devices though. i am yet to upload the devices.

as far as performance is concerned, i referred the articles and read the blogs to disable all monitors and network scans. i will monitor my devices manually.

Hello Gary,

I guess there was an update or something which caused all our spicework system to load slowly. (which i have not seen in the sw system settings)

Since this issue is resolved. i want to close this topic as resolved.
