Have had a wildcard certificate for our company for a while and would like to issue it to our on prem (server 2008) Spiceworks helpdesk.

I can see that there is a variety of threads on this subject about converting file etc but none that fit our problem or that are easy to follow.

So from GoDaddy we have 2 files:
One is a seemingly random line of numbers and letters 854dg8547g46e5gh.crt
The other seems to be a bit more descriptive gd_bundle-g2-g1.crt

So my question is do I need to convert these into another format or where to I reference them?

I have them stored in the Program Files\Spiceworks\httpd\conf folder

you’ll also need the private key that was used to start all this off with GoDaddy

854dg8547g46e5gh.crt looks like it could your signed cert,

gd_bundle-g2-g1.crt is the intermediates mentioned in step 7

The private key was initially generated from our core www. company website around a year ago.

Would this be a problem? I can’t see anywhere in GoDaddy where we would resubmit the key from the Spiceworks server.

You’ll need to export the key from the www server
