Spiceworks, since the update, keeps pulling about 180 devices out of inventory and claiming that it needs to scan them. If I actually check the inventory, they’re there. I can manually rescan them and everything works, but the next time I open up the scanning tab, most of the time I’m presented with this list that needs to be scanned. Not sure if this makes any sense, so I attached two pictures to illustrate what I mean.
Notice how the number of inventoried computers drops and magically 180 devices need to be scanned. I go from pic1 to pic2 sometimes just by refreshing the scan page. If I attempt to run the scan. It starts at 100% and never moves. The log will rescan those 180 and eventually cleanly end and say it’s completed. The scan will never stop on the server until I kill it from the settings panel. This is a BRAND NEW install of Spiceworks from last week. I’ve rebooted the server and no dice. Driving me crazy.

I have been working the Q&A section and a few people have complained about this issue. It might be a bug in 7.x…
I’m having the same problem. Everything is inventoried, then an hour later several computers can’t be inventoried because " Authentication failed for user admin". I enter the credentials for the 20th time, they slide over into the “Login was Successful” box, I say rescan, and the next time I look it’s back to " Authentication failed for user admin". Argh. One of my previously scanned computers won’t show up anywhere. I search for it, and it doesn’t exist. I search by IP address–doesn’t exist. I scan the network using another tool, and there it is online.
Any clues as to where to even look for the problem or something I can do to mitigate it? Spiceworks has taken up starting a scan, what feels like every 5 minutes, which of course never ends.
