Hi All,

We’ve recently started using remote sites and the spiceworks agent as we want to get our inventory as accurate and clean as possible.

We have 4 sites, and each has a remote collector except our main site which has our main spiceworks install. We’ve configured these remote sites to scan a specific IP range on that sites subnet (Settings > Inventory > Device Scanning). We thought this would mean that only that range is scanned, but it’s still picking other devices up outside of this range.

Are we correctly setting this up? Do we have to add exclusions for the ranges we don’t want scanned as opposed to the other way around? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Each site should only scan the subnets you specific, however if they overlap or your main site is scanning a range your remote site is scanning, you need to tweak the scan ranges,

It should not pick up ranges you don’t include

{"@type":"Person
Rod-IT
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/Rod-IT"}},{"@type":"Answer

It depends on what ranges you setup? Do they include other networks? Otherwise it would not be scanning other network or devices. Can you provide an example of what is going on?

{"@type":"Person
dbeato
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/dbeato"}}]}}
