I know we are way early for Spiceworld Sessions requests (Well 2 months or so based on back when I was at Spiceworks), but I wondered if anyone already knew what sort of sessions they were planning to present on.
Been too long since I have been to SpiceWorld and really debating seeing if I can get it added to our training budget for the year, but of course I would need to make a plan for what training on. So just already thinking about “Wonder what will be there” lol.

You should plan to do a session.

Careful what you wish for

With the things that I have been through since being shown the door when Spiceworks was sold to Ziff I definitely have some fun stuff I could present on, but that wouldn’t be justification by my business to send me lol. I definitely can’t afford it on my own dime unfortunately.

The goal this year is to get a Session List (aka, what sessions there are, not when exactly they will be or what rooms) a lot earlier this year. That was the challenge last year was waiting until we had everything buttoned up before we published the schedule.
But, while we’re chatting about it, what would you (not just @SysSquatch but anyone reading this) really like to see talked about as a session this year?

I know that “AI” will still be the hot topic. But a session that cuts through the marketing frenzy of “AI” and gets down to whatever meaty bacon of substance there actually is would be useful.
Such as, for SMBs that aren’t creating their own LLMs, what are use cases that have legitimate ROIs? How do we use those LLMs or such securely, protecting against data leakage? How do we protect proprietary company data from being used to train “AI” tools?
It feels like many SMB C-suites are using “AI” things in fear of getting “left behind”. The marketing hype is rabid and foaming at the mouth.
(I would not be the one to present this, I’m one in need of help figuring this out.)

But in other news, when will the call for sessions be open? I have an idea brewing.

You should start putting it down so as soon as they make a call for the sessions you can submit it.

Thanks, Slava! I have a rough outline jotted down already and sticky notes nearby as I come up with more ideas.

There is also no rules against submitting multiple sessions.

Who do we contact in regards to Spiceworld registration? I have tried a few times to register and when you finish and hit submit it says information is incomplete even though I have the required fields filled out. My first thought is it does not ask for the CVV of the credit card and maybe that is the issue on the registration site. I have tried to email the spiceworld email address several times and no one responds.

Hi @dalec3079, I think I found your email and just replied to it… let me know if you didn’t get it.

Always Soon™, always. I keep watching as I want to try my hand at this panel session thing. Maybe. Bad enough that I have to wait to register due to fiscal year stuff. T_T
