I’m leaving my company Forsa Technologies for another opportunity. I’m looking aggressively to get someone in for interviews and to hire. The job will be in Leawood, KS but the Administrator will manage other company networks in Wichita and will have to travel to Wichita intermittently.

Technologies:

Windows Server 2003-2008R2-2012R2

Manage 3 Windows Active Directory Domains/DNS/DHCP, and everything else with domains - you must have some real good competencies and understand Windows Servers- 2 domains are remote but I have DC’s in our Leawood Data Center that replicate to the DC’s at the locations in Wichita. We have 100mb VPN connections between the sites.

Vendor Relationships - must be able to deal with IT Vendors, manage contracts, manage support, negotiations, etc… (ATT, Sprint, TWC, TWC Telecom, DakTech, HP)

Manage 3 MS Exchange 2010 Servers with around 300 users

ESXi 6.0 Std - and clustering 120+ vms

Hyper-V 2012R2 Clustering and replication 20+ vms

Infortrend SAN (iscsi configuration/management)

PFSENSE Firewalls

Cisco/Dell switches

VOIP (GrandStream and Askterisk)

HPE Trilead VMX Backup/Restore/Replication

ScreenConnnect Remote support program

SpiceWorks Helpdesk/Monitoring/Reporting (duh!)

Malwarebytes Enterprise

WebRoot AV (deploying soon)

Management Experience a plus but not necessary.

Must be willing to work some weekends to get the ongoing project* completed

Must be a team person - ready to communicate and work with the development team and the HelpDesk support team regularly.

Other duties/technologies as needed (helpdesk, security, etc…)

  • There is an ongoing project to move all IT resources from the companies in Wichita to the Internal Cloud in Leawood. I have moved all company resources except for one. This person should understand how to P2V and how to handle production resources and move them from 1 location to another. I already have a plan in place, this person will just have to complete it.

If you could walk in here with little to no hand holding, and know or have exposure to most of the technology, it’s an easy 85-90k job.

I just hired a Jr. Sys Admin so this person will have some help/backup as well. I was planning on pushing the VOIP, Malwarebytes, AV and some other of the listed items over to her when she started. She will also be doing most of the helpdesk and remote helpdesk support. This is a pretty kick ass job - you get to finish building the internal cloud and then manage it.

That’s a lot for one person to manage even with a Jr Sys Admin to help.

I would love to manage something that big but the money isn’t worth it the move to KS for me.

Thanks for posting… a few things though.

There is a really weird mix of equipment in there… VMware mixed with Hyper-V, pfSense firewalls (multiple??) with Cisco gear… Dell switches, why? One SAN, do you have an IPOD ?

Indecision? Lack of direction? Leadership issue? Why all the inconsistency?
