The 20th anniversary is here, and it’ll be back in theaters.
I think I may go watch it. I never saw on the big screen.
Anyone else?

I missed the 25th anniversary showing of Phantom Menace… I might miss this too, though I like it better.
I read this morning that a theater in London is showing the ORIGINAL Star Wars in May or June - I already wanted to go to London, now I REALLY want to go!! I don’t really have the resources (I could “put it on the card”), but to see my favorite movie ever in the theater again?? Tempting!

Definitely sounds tempting.
Oh, it is playing here starting on April 24th at Flix Brewhouse… it is not my favorite of the Star Wars films, but I haven’t seen it in a huge screen in years (but I do watch the entire series every few years). I still need to try the updated Machete Order.
TL;DR – Thanks for pointing this out, I should go see it again in the theaters!

I’ve pretty much given up on theaters, but I may watch it again at home.
Availability of food, booze, restroom, pause button, and comfy couch are just too much to give up.

When I’m on the road for work i usually go see a movie in the evening. I am going to Palm Springs in two weeks and was looking at pre-purchasing my movie tickets. It was a choice between Accountant 2 and the Revenge of the Sith. Accountant 2 won.

If you think you are old, I remember seeing the original Star Wars, now known as “A New Hope” in the theater. Which is now an Office Max.

First non-Disney movie I remember seeing in the theater.

I’ve seen all of the Star Wars at the movie theater, during first release. Memorial Day, 1977, forever changed the way I view the universe.
I love going to the movie theater, alone. I will be seeing ROTS at the local AMC.

Cool. I was one of the early watchers also. I don’t know if it was opening day, but I’m pretty sure it was opening week. I wasn’t old enough to drive, so my mom dropped me off at the theater.
I still remember coming out of the theater numb. The story was incredible and the effects were HUGE in '77. The closest leap in effects I can think of since then is when The Matrix first came out, but IMO, that wasn’t nearly the leap that Star Wars in '77 was.

I was only 5 when it came out but the original blew my mind in such a way, that for years after every birthday, Christmas was littered with presents of Star Wars figures, ships, etc.

But did you have this as well?
Or the Original Boba Fett that you had to send in 5 UPCs to get?
