For the 5th time this week, I have received a call from someone who says they are with HP.

No matter how many times I tell these people to stop calling me, more of them do.

I had a blissful two weeks without calls, but it’s starting again…

HP, What do I have to do to help you get the point that I will never buy anything from you again?

I have always liked your networking gear, and we used to buy your thin clients. Not anymore! You have burned every possible bridge that you had with me and I’m tired of it.

Please make it stop!

TL;DR: HP sucks and I would like them to stop calling!

I had the same issue with Komodo at my previous job.

Sounds like it may not actually be from HP. Are you sure it is legit?

Ask to speak with their supervisor the next time they call. Keep going up the food chain until it stops.

Not to take the side of the overlord corporations, but marketing is an extremely busy high volume job and you’re contact information likely never got updated to the do not contact list and has been passed around to more then one rep. Also, keep in mind every time you sign up for a webinar hosted by HP (or any others) you are signing up for a contact, regardless of your past requests for ceasing contact.

dat not so fine-fine print.

Just punch this into the keypad every time they call:

32 32 32 3 2 1 2 33 2 2
and that’s about the time she walked away from me

112 3 2 1 2 33 22
nobody likes you when you’re twenty-three

1 1 2 3 21 2 3 3 2
and you’re still more impressed by prank phone calls

1 1 1 1 321
what the hell is Caller ID?

3 33 3 3 2 2 2
I never want to act my age

3 2 3 33
What’s my age again?

3 2 3 11
What’s My age again?

Nope. Legit. The company is “Hyper Phone” (HP).

I am having this issue with cdw right now, a call every day, sometimes 2 calls per day. I send them to voicemail and they never leave one.

Must have hired a new sales manager for your area. Am I the only guy around here that screens his calls?

Behold the power and evil that is this plan… MWAHAHAHAHAHA

Tell HP that your office number is changing and give them CDW’s number.

Shift. Repeat.

I like Robert5205’s idea. On the other side and get their name and email address and tell them you will email them you will get back to them. On some free time sign them up for newsletters and other useless information like what Julia (Spiceworks) had just posted about.

Next time I get a call from a sales drone I plan on saying this:

“Oh hello! Yes, I’m not in IT anymore. I’ve moved to insurance sales as it’s much more fulfilling than IT. Do you have life insurance? How about car insurance? Your kids? Your loved ones? Why not give me your number so I can follow up with you!”.

They are rarely with HP, just representing them. I am not sure if it is legit as I cut them off as soon as I hear “HP.”

I have been assured by several people that they would remove me from their list, only to have the same person call back the next day. I know it was the same because his name was Justin and that triggered a memory stamp!

I like the idea of mashing buttons, that’s what I do on all the robo calls on my cell (roughly 3 per day) because I don’t feel sorry for the scam artists that answer. I don’t necessarily want to ruin the psyche of the poor person following their script, I want HP to send out a memo to ALL of their business partners saying:

Under no circumstances call XXX-XXX-XXXX. Thank you.

Is that too much to ask?

But I actually like CDW… Maybe I should send them to Dell.

That is brilliant!

I told the HP reps that called us “we are a dell shop, I am not a purchasing authority, we don’t like nonstandard equipment, replace people’s computer’s when we need to, and my boss doesn’t want to hear from you anymore either, sorry. Have a wonderful day though!”
