Got something I’m working on tonight and wanted some background noise. As I’m flipping through a few streaming services, I come across a video for “Superhot: The Spicy World of Pepper People.” Of course, when I saw the title, the whole “this is relevant to my interests” meme popped into mind so I checked out the trailer.

Early on, it says something to the effect of, “The pepper world is an amazing place. It’s a land of beauty and inspiration. It’s also a place of nut jobs, thieves. People would be surprised to know how cutthroat it is.

Has anyone watched this yet?

Haven’t seen that.

Have you taken in " El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer) ?"

I’ve always thought it the last word on peppers. Why artists continue to approach the subject is a mystery to me.

“Johnny Cash’s sonorous voice was ideal for voice over work – and the Man in Black was used to great effect in a 1997 episode of The Simpsons. In “The Mysterious Voyage Of Homer,” Cash portrays a space coyote who comes to Homer Simpson during a hot pepper-induced hallucination, urging him to begin a quest to find his soulmate. Cash took the role after friend Bob Dylan turned it down; creator Matt Groening called his guest starring role “one of the greatest coups the show has ever had.””

That ought to be interesting. To watch, not mimic.

Sounds interesting. I’ll have to check it out this week.

That looks like it would be great to watch.

Sounds like it might be a documentary about Spiceworks

haha, that was one of my first thoughts when I saw it (granted, I knew it wasn’t… but what if it was?!).

Watched the first episode last night (looks like there is 10 in all, more than I thought there would be) and it reminded me of Johnny Scoville . Might be interesting to do something with him someday!

You beat me to it, @sean-spiceworks ! I saw that show pop up on Hulu last night and thought, “I have to tell all my spicy friends…!”

Needless to say, it’s shamelessly on my watch list.

Things I fail to understand:

  • “sports” like slap fighting or trying to prove your worth by eating food that hot

  • extreme selfie shots that could result in death and sometimes do.

  • people who fail to heed the signs at Yellowstone and get burned in a hot pool

  • “died doing what he/she loved”. you are still dead and from the go fund me campaigns I have seen often there is no consideration for those left behind.

I will likely watch, only because I love watching people inflict pain on themselves.

adding to your list.

  • people that want to take selfies with wild bears or big cats! I just dunno…

@repairatrooper

Video about Spiceworks might be more like this:

I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ll have to tell my coworker. He’s one of those people who puts way too much hot sauce on his food for attention, then realized halfway through that he can’t handle the heat…
