Hi Guys,

I have a Server 2008 R2 Terminal that is used to support legacy software, it cannot be upgraded to a newer OS.

My DC’s run Microsoft Server 2022, after the latest security patch is applied (KB5021249) I can no longer log into the terminal via RDP, I get the error login was unsuccessful.

If I roll back the update, I can RDP into TS2 again.

Anyone experienced the same or similar? Any advice would be appreciated.

7 Spice ups

I think it literally breaks most RDP as well… server 2008, server 2012 & some reported server 2016 as well…

You get the wrong creds error ???

Nah mate, I get an error just vaguely saying it was unsuccessful. I have '12 and '19 systems on my network and they still respond normally to RDP.

The only advice I can give is to leave that patch off for now - you know it causes problems.

I don’t know the official cause, but if it’s related to legacy protocols, there isn’t going to be a fix as MS have EOL 2008.
