Our signature IT promotion this year is called Paths to Power, a choose-your-own-adventure experience where you track down our Wizard of Lite across a fictional land of data centers and IT. To add a little spice and flavor, we’ve included all kinds of fun Easter eggs, IT lingo and we’d like to know which ones you like the best. To enter this contest, simply vote for your favorite type of Easter eggs below.
- Leeroy Jenkins
- Terminator (Skynet)
- IT Crowd (0118 999 881 999 119 725… 3, red door)
- Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Bridgekeeper, shrubbery, the curtains?)
- Office Space (Lumbergh, Milton/red stapler)
- Star Wars (Order 66, sand people, 12 parsecs, Jabba/Leia, Mos Eisley)
- Lord of the Rings (balrog, flame of Anor, you cannot pass, lembas bread, eagle)
- Spaceballs (The Schwartz)
- IT stuff (127.0.0.1, DNS, ID10T, layer 8, code 18)
- SysAdmin goat farm
Be sure to turn your alerts on for this contest. Until it’s over, we’ll pop back in and post pictures of prizes that you can win. For example, if we post a picture of a red stapler, we’ll give a red stapler to the first SpiceHead who shows where they found one of our Office Space Easter eggs with a screen shot and/or thorough description of its location. In other words, the prize IS the clue!
Prizes: We’ll randomly draw 20 winners for the following items:
-
A printed copy of our User’s Guide to SysAdmins
-
A screaming goat figurine
-
A printed copy of our Paths to Power map
-
Our new Mr. Bacon challenge coin
-
Eaton desk toy socks
-
Paths to Power Power Cards (brand new deck of 10)
Deadline for entries: Friday, August 1, 2025

Here again, an “all of the above” or at least multiple selections was needed
there were a lot of fun ones!

I voted Star Wars because I think that would be fun to add to the adventure!

I love the original Star Wars franchise. But for this one, I had to go Holy Grail.

Haven’t looked yet but just by the list Leeroy, Monty, and Spaceballs grab my interests.

I hesitated between Monty Python and the Schwartz, but really, you can’t go wrong with either of them.
I’m still waiting for Mattel to manufacture the Spaceballs flamethrower. Perhaps you could capitalize on that and make an Eaton: The Flamethrower? Just sayin’…

I never was any good at catching/spotting easter eggs, but I did manage to catch a few of them when I did this last month. I might have to try it again, but prefer when the “key” is released after (like how I always look online for how/where to find the easter eggs in Android after the latest release).

As someone who doesn’t qualify because of my location… is there a way to get the devil ducky?
7 Spice ups
Almost went with Leroy Jenkins, but have to stick with the Terminator.

Yeah, I didn’t even know who that was and had to look it up this morning when I first saw this post. I guess you can tell how much of a gamer I am!

There is a hero that pays homage to Leroy Jenkins in Clicker Heroes. I learned about the whole thing nearly a decade after it was a big thing. I think it is a crapshoot sometimes with all of these memes and references.
Most of my friend circle still “do not know the way”
