It’s been a quiet day today, and being Tuesday I’ve been thinking about Tacos. My personal favorite was Taco Bell’s Double-Decker taco. Sadly they’ve discontinued it, but I still make tacos at home this way. If you’ve never had one, they are a hard shell taco, wrapped with a soft shell and refried beans holding the two shells together.

I’m not picky though. I also really like traditional Mexican tacos with Steak, cilantro, and onion. What is your favorite?

My latest home obsession is a filled crunchy taco that is nestled into a soft taco that has been smothered in refried beans. Keeps all the taco goodness in place with no crumbs.

I’m gonna go with a hotdog for my favourite taco.

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any sort of taco. But, I firmly believe that Taco Bell has the best readily available fast food taco. Y’all can fight me on this one.

I would never scoff at Tbell and I am with you on the double decker taco. That stuff is :bomb:. I have had street tacos and make some good homemade ones. Enchiladas are my personal specialty, but that is more taco adjacent.

I am partial to flour tortillas though, and only like certain corn tortillas. They taste a little weird to me sometimes.

@lamocon No one is gonna fight you for spittin’ straight fax. To be fair though, I have never had Taco John’s, Del Taco, or any of those west coast ones. TBell is tried and true.

@Jrx1216 There always has to be one… lmao

Taco John’s is totes available in the Midwest. The tacos are good but their potato oles are where it’s at. Some fast food taco spot aficionados even say they’re better than Taco Bell’s nacho fries.

I haven’t had any of the west coast tacos either; always wanted to try some. Taco Bell used to be my favorite cheap food place, but I’ve held a grudge against them ever since they dropped the double-decker taco. I don’t understand why they don’t keep it; they literally have all the ingredients to make them!

queso birria would be my choice, i call them dippy tacos and they are amazing

Birria is so good!

I’d also like to add breakfast tacos (egg, potato, bacon, and cheese) like the ones you find everywhere in Austin, TX and barbacoa tacos too. Man, I’ve been missing tacos since moving away from Texas.

Probably eat only 1 or two tacos a year, I don’t think I ever even had one for the first time until around 4 years ago and probably age 28 at the time.

Ah, I forgot about Breakfast Tacos! Yes those are amazing. I used to visit my parents in the Austin area and the breakfast tacos were great!

Yikes… your closest TJ’s is in Rhinelander, WI. No fast food taco joint is worth a three hour round trip drive (maybe besides for those “bougie” Taco Bell Cantinas). But if you’re ever road trippin’ the potato oles are legit made to be munched on in the car.

But don’t they have the double stacked and gordita? I get your plight, but there are “close” variants.

hhhmmm…there’s a TJ not terribly far from where I’m at. I may have to try these potato Oles.

they’re not the same. I’m set in my ways

@NetworKing

I’m so sorry it took so long. I hope it was worthwhile. I don’t mean this negatively, but how? They are so good.
