Teams folder sync

I have a bunch of Windows 10 PC’s on a local domain which have been replaced with new PC’s Windows 11.

When I click “sync” for a folder under a Teams channel to add the folder to file explorer I get a message to the effect that OneDrive can no longer find the folder at "C:\User\OneDrive\Contoso" or similar?

How do I get this working again?

Note the user is signed into OneDrive just fine.

Teams does not store things in a personal user onedrive. Teams stores them as sites under sharepoint. Not sure why you would sync anything, these are cloud only files once moved to Teams.

Think of Teams as a faster lighter Sharepoint, with a chat function.

You can “sync” Teams / SharePoint folders to your own OneDrive, this basically just functions as a shortcut to the actual Teams / SharePoint folder. Main use case I’ve seen for this is allowing users to have SharePoint / Teams folders available from their Windows file explorer rather than having to go through Teams or SharePoint to upload files.

What happens if you click the “Set up OneDrive” button? You said that the user is signed into OneDrive, but that doesn’t mean the sync folder(s) were ever set up properly on the local computer, but clicking that button should resolve.

That is the example company name from the documentation, you need to actually setup your company name…

thats exactly what they want - access in file explorer - but why not working?

Log out of OneDrive and log back in using your Microsoft 365 account.
