I currently have an Eaton 5PX 2200 with a battery addon box in production for my primary virtual host, my core network stack and my phone system. I replaced a 3000VA APC stacked unit.

I would much rather have another Eaton for my replication target virtual host, since it’s in a small warehouse at the southwest edge of the campus, but my budget allowed me a basic APC unit. I have a live production environment to test in for a review, if that helps!

I’m interested in an objective opinion about fan noise, and how well Intelligent Power Manager integrates with XenCenter. I’ve been looking at a couple of (the cheaper) Eaton UPS models for a small XenServer cluster.

I’ve always worked in APC shops. It would be interesting to try an Eaton UPS, especially as a Spicehead and knowing that Eaton contributed to UPS support in Spiceworks.
