We’ve been using FreshDesk for about a year. While I can’t say it’s the best, because I haven’t tried enough to fairly compare, I can definitely say it’s far better than our old solution (SolarWinds on-prem), and definitely works great for us. There’s a free tier you can use to get started, and paid ones for if you need more features. I only wish they had some features available ala carte…we definitely can’t afford the higher tiers, and wouldn’t use all their features, but one or two would be nice to have!

That depends, what organization? What systems? What OS? What integrations?
Open Source or Free are great but also depends how much support you need? and how many releases and hotfixes you expect?
