have you pinged support an email as well?

No I have not as yet. What happened is that our proxy got decommissioned and when I tried to log into Spiceworks to make the proxy changes I could not get in again.

posting here will get attention of the community and any spice workers that are online, for a quicker response email support and they should get on it pdq

Do you perhaps have support’s mail address for me?

If you did already restart and it didn’t help: support@spiceworks.com

Have you turned off the proxy settings in your browser and tried to connect to Spiceworks directly, or tried it directly on the Spiceworks computer/VM, possibly using different browsers without any proxy settings and http(s)://localhost:port?

I have no other knowledge of using a proxy inside Spiceworks to assist any further in that regard, sorry.

Unless you get any results searching the Spiceworks directory with part of the proxy string to see if that information is stored somewhere easily accessible to modify.

If you didn’t get the help you needed from the Community, don’t worry, our Support Team can help you out, and support at Spiceworks doesn’t cost you a dime.

All you need to do to get help is email support@spiceworks.com and include relevant information, such as a link to any posts you made in the Community concerning your problem.

I have tried logging in on local host from the VM. I get to the login screen and get the same error after logging in. I tried crome and IE with no luck.

Both Chrome and IE use the same proxy settings. Have you gone in and cleared proxy settings in there or tried Firefox?

Thanks guys I mailed Spiceworks support.

I have cleared out the proxy settings with no luck of logging in.

I also tried using Firefox with no luck.

It was worth a shot, since Spiceworks is set to use the old proxy, it probably can’t hit the Spiceworks server to authenticate the credentials.

They should be able to get you taken care of. Please keep us posted in here how it turns out.

Wynand4831 ended up figuring out this was an issue with the database. After a re-install, everything is working.

Great news, glad it’s all working again. Thanks for the update Jon!

Hi Guys,

Sorry for only replying now. Spiceworks was installed on one of my Domain Controller. After installting windows updates the database corrupted. I created a new VM and installed Spiceworks on there. I tried restoring my db but after the restore Spiceworks would not start up again. I lost all my previous calls but luckily I was able to restore all the mails sent to my helpdesk mailbox and all the calls logged again. I don’t see it as a bad thing because now I have a clean helpdesk.

Thanks for all the help. Much appreciated.

Spiceworks is a pretty heavy application, especially if using Inventory with network scanning. Having it on a DC can lead to performance problems, that’s for sure. On a VM, that should alleviate things, but you also might want to go in and customize the scan settings to ensure the performance is customized for your environment:

Do you perhaps know which Windows Update, or potential list of updates, it was that might have have caused your database corruption?

If you had a database backup, you could restore it, but a clean install does have benefits.

Don’t forget to setup backups now in your new install:
