Hi, I have this DataOn S2D-3110, that use to work perfect. But now that its not, there is very little documentation about how to troubleshoot it. Its a very elusive and according to the manufacturer, very old.

I emailed them about getting some but have yet heard back.

I cannot get a display from the device. The last thing I did was plug in a kind of shoddy KVM. It didnt have any external power just from USB. It did not display from that but has not displayed since then.
The second thing I did while I had the display up was try and to install Windows on the device but my RAID ARRAY would not recognize my drive that I had put in but it did previous. It all just happened all of a sudden. I then formatted the Satadoms with a Raid Configuration and my display problems did not help either.

Any suggestions on what I should do? Or something that is old, takes DDR4, and or the same CPUS as this unit to just migrate over.

Indeed, the hardware is pretty old. As far as I remember, these were among the first ready-nodes released along with S2D itself back in 2016. Other than that, these should be just regular servers (the rumors say it is Supermicro, but I am not sure).

Technical specs are still decent so I would definitely recommend trying to repurposing them. Since these are S2D ready-nodes, there should be no RAID at all. You can try installing Windows Server 2022 or AzureStack HCI https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure-stack/hci/deploy/download-azure-stack-hci-software, and it should work. Depending on what kind of license you have for these servers, you may keep using S2D for clustered storage or switch to our Virtual SAN https://www.starwindsoftware.com/vsan for better performance.
