You will need to track down one of the reported devices to see if it is indeed having DNS issues and what its local settings are. Hi Molan,<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, that is not the case. There are multiple devices with this issue and random checks indicate that the DNS/DHCP IP addresses are that of my internal servers, so they are pulling the correct information. If the devices are being handed the correct DNS issue then the next step is to look at your network and the route the devices have to take to reach that DNS server. Are they actually able to traverse the route? is the DNS server on the same VLAN and Subnet? Are Guest policies in play? Is there a firewall in the path? I have a dozen clients that use all Unifi AP’s and everything is setup correctly. You ALWAYS see those messages and there is nothing wrong. Just like any Android and iPhone, they are constantly communicating with adware and junk. I’ve never had an end user call and say they were having a problem accessing anything so I would just ignore those messages.<\/p>\n

Hello All,

I’ve checked out my network DHCP and DNS and both seem to be functioning well. Unifi kicks out these messages daily on the hour:

Any thoughts? Thank you!

If you have a stupid DNS client (like an iPhone) and they have a stupid app that is running and it’s making constant queries trying to resolve a host name like this.address.no.longer.exists.com from a crazy service for an app company that went bankrupt a year ago then the “Client iPhone is having trouble resolving a domain name to an IP address (DNS timeout)” for hours
