these steps outlined in our Admin Guide on updates.

Can you tell me a bit more about the clients you’re trying to protect? What is the host OS that they’re running on?

{"@type":"Person
katie-unitrends
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/katie-unitrends"}},{"@type":"Answer

I’ve had my web filter block my appliances from backing up because it doesn’t “authenticate” so I had to set those IP addresses to be allowed without authentication. This one gave both support and I for a hard time over a couple of days until I actually read the error when I ran yum from the console.

I also have FTP blocked except for certain IP addresses which is the default way for the updater to get the updates. I don’t have control of the firewall to allow FTP so I had to edit the yum.conf (I think that is the file name) to use HTTP instead of FTP.

Either way you should reach out to support and have them do some checking if you are sure that nothing on your end is blocking the updates. I don’t condone making any changes without direction from support!

{"@type":"Person
tonystahl
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/tonystahl"}},{"@type":"Answer

I watched the video and then also tried KB1644 to no avail.

However, while running the yum clean all portion I get this:

Loaded plugins: downloadonly, fastestmirror, presto

Repository base is listed more than once in the configuration

Repository extras is listed more than once in the configuration

Repository centosplus is listed more than once in the configuration

Repository contrib is listed more than once in the configuration

Cleaning repos: base unitrends update

Cleaning up Everything

Cleaning up list of fastest mirrors

0 delta-package files removed, by presto

My gut tells me this is the issue but my gut is ignorant and doesn’t know how to fix it

I don’t want to get too deep and be responsible for something getting broken even worse so I think the best thing to start a chat with support ( I think you at least get that support on the free versions) and see what they say. Something must have changed but it is hard to say what did without anything to compare the config files with. I guess I’m lucky to have 4 appliances to compare with.

Hopefully you get Chance because he is really good and has some great level 2 guys on his team. Let us know how it goes.

{"@type":"Person
tonystahl
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/tonystahl"}},{"@type":"Answer

Thank you everyone. Their support got everything squared away. It did have to do with what I thought, but it took them a bit to figure out how to resolve. Great support!!

Thanks Katie!
