Dark Mode

In case you're unfamiliar with it, dark mode is a display setting for user interfaces. Instead of the default dark text showing up against a light screen (aka 'light mode'), a light color is presented against a dark or black screen.

To turn this on, follow these steps:

  1. Simply click on your avatar in the top right corner of the global navigation

  2. Click on the 'Profile' icon towards the bottom of that menu

  3. Select 'Preferences'

  4. Select 'Interface' on the secondary navigation menu

You’ll now see a 'Color Scheme' area with a few options:

  • Theme default

  • WCAG Light

  • Dark

  • WCAG Dark

Choose the one you like best and click 'Save' at the bottom of the page.

That's it!

You might be wondering what WCAG is. That stands for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and these palettes prioritize text contrast and are intended to meet the WCAG for color contrast 48 (Level AA).

Do you use Dark Mode? If so, what do you think about it?

3 Spice ups

After playing around with it, I think I’m sticking with “Dark” instead of the WCAG version, a few things pop out on regular Dark that I like a bit more, such as:

Dark mode

WCAG Dark

WCAG Dark seems crispier than Dark. I like it. Thank you for mentioning it.
