Veeam instance license (VIL ) question

We wanted to get Veeam Backup Essentials ( Standard edition) in the new Veeam Instance License( VIL) model. Subscription model.

We got the following part numbers for 1 yr subscription purchase.

V-ESSSTD-0I-SU1YP-00

Is there minimum requirement like Qty 2 we need to purchase ? They come in bundle of 5 VMs and since there is a minimum of 10 instances requirement needed as per Veeam. Does it mean we need to buy Qty 2 of the above item number ?

As per FAQ " Instance licenses of Veeam Backup Essentials are portable Subscription licenses sold in bundles of instances (from 10 to 50 instances) and packaged in 5-instance bundles. "

So, yeah, you’d need to buy 2 packages (Qty 2) of 5-instance bundle.

Is the subscription license software same as the traditional business essential standard software, except the license key is different ?

Or is the software itself is different one for the subscription model ?

Software bits as well as functionality are the same. The license key (and license paradigm) is different. You’re deciding on what fits you better (CapEx vs OpEx), thinking about portability (with VIL it’s much easier to go to the cloud) and whatnot.
