I received an email informing me that my version 8 service is going to expire and that I’ll be upgraded to version 13 or can have a free trial of version 15 until Dec 2023.

I am unable to find where I can compare the features of the 2 versions to be able to make an informed decision about them. Any assistance would be appreciated.

MisterNetwork - Let me try to answer your question. Most organizations opt for our most recent version because it has the most features and is continually improved, but let me share some feature lists for both. TeamViewer 15 includes new features below, plus what was added in version 14:

  • More Mobile Device Support addons
  • New Black Screen driverless, supports macos
  • Custom black screen
  • IOT addon product
  • Remote access licenses/remote worker
  • RSA 4096 Keys from RSA 2048
  • Updated code signing authority to Digicert
  • M1 mac support
  • Teams integration
  • Moving to subscription will enable integration access
  • Expanded the API capabilities
  • Reintegrated the updated TeamViewer meeting solution back into the core product.
  • Remote access to chrome os
  • 4k screen support
  • Session code surveys
  • Deployable full client
  • Expanded policy options
  • Incoming connection reporting
  • Improved mac deployment

TeamViewer 13 includes:

Hope that helps!

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the reply.

That’s a lot to try and decipher without a side by side comparison or checklist.

Let me ask this - for what reason would anyone want version 13 instead of 15 and will there be any difference in cost to license at the end of 2023?

Also - I purchased a “lifetime” license for version 8 (even though it shows as free). Are there any limitations to my automatic upgrade to V13 or the trial of V15?

Thanks again and Happy Holidays!

Very good questions. I had to clarify with someone familiar with licensing - there is no difference between updating to 13 or 15 for you. Because you own version 8 perpetual license, you can use either until the end of life for version 8. Therefore, I am not sure why you would want 13. TeamViewer 15 offers a lot more features, better performance and security enhancements.

Happy holidays to you too!

Excellent Jon - Thank you!

Doesn’t TeamViewer 8 offer a Perpetual license?

I paid a lot of money for several business licenses.

I read the EULA several times and is no mention of an arbitrary end of life date.

What version of Team Viewer for TV8 Versions can be installed without having to use a subscription service at the end of the trial date?
