Hi All
Just installed Spiceworks desktop, and I can see I’ve got a bunch of tidy up work to do if I’m going to keep using it…
Issue #1
This is similar issue as False Positive for more than one anti-virus VIPRE and ThreatTrack which was never resolved as far as I can see.
Most of my PCs are showing as having two A/V installed. That’s actually the SAME A/V just listed twice. How do I fix?

FWIW the 11 not listed twice are likely all servers who also have the Dashboard installed, and probably had the agent installed differently than the desktops…

We don’t have a quick/simple workaround for this issue (unfortunately), but as you found we’ve had reports of it in the past. I think its a result of VIPRE storing two entries in Windows Security Center, where most AV vendors store a single entry.
Spiceworks doesn’t have logic in place to compare AV titles, so the monitor just assumes that two entries means there are two unrelated AV clients installed.
You could work around this by running a report that lists the AV, and just look for any places where the devices with 2 clients have one VIPRE client and one that isn’t a VIPRE client.

Thanks for the information Ben
I found I can just turn off that check as well. Might be best for this case.

Hello,
Not sure if this correlates with your issue, but I have found several devices that have multiple entries of the same Vipre program. What I have done is run the Microsoft install/uninstall troubleshooter program while on effected machine. Ran it each time if there are multiple entries of software. When there is no more then I reinstall the current agent
