We are looking for a way to capture electronic signatures that we can place on any document that requires scanning. This eliminates the need to print, sign, scan and discard to trash. We would like to keep it all electronic.

Not sure if using a tablet is the best method or getting one of those devices that plugs into a computer.

In the past, I’ve just collected the required signatures and scanned them. The resulting graphic file is given to the signer to place in files as needed.

I researched this project last year and for everything that we needed to do we used a company called DocuSign. They offer every feature you can think of they are certified to handle basically any type of document, and their support has been top notch.

My eye doctor uses these and they seem to work well…

Sorry, I had a brain fart and didn’t process the whole post before I recommended Docusign for what you are trying to do.

try this st1500u lcd electronic signature pad it works with word and easy to integrate with other programs http://www.veterinarywholesalesupply.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=49:scriptel-spec&catid=1:latest-news

We either scan in the signatures or use something like an iPad and make them a transparent gif, which can be inserted wherever needed.

+1 for DocuSign. That’s what use here, too, and it really seems to work well. I haven’t heard any complaints, and it’s been implemented for about six months now.

Literally just took a call about this! How odd!

As I just explained to my user, nice and neat on an A5 bit of paper. Scan it in. With GIMP add an alpha channel, delete all the white space - copy and paste.

Works a treat with no 3rd party, or cost, involved.

Are the signers employees of your company? How about digital signatures?

Mark, while I’m completely bias Nitro would be a great solution for what you are looking for. Nitro offers a suite of different products, Nitro Pro and Nitro Cloud that when used together provide powerful tools to accelerate the way businesses create, prepare and sign documents.

You can scan your documents into Nitro Pro, and then bake the eSignatures straight into the document.

Happy to help answer any questions you might have.

HelloSign! Cheaper and easier to use than DocuSign!

Yes Docusign… But it is not inexpensive.

I would suggest Box.com with Docusign or any other vendor in their ecosystem. I don’t currently use E-sig’s yet I just use pdfs and add-on signature for free.

+1 for DocuSign

What we are trying to do (I also just met with Box last week at Spiceworks HQ) is develop an SaaS application that uses Box for the attachment storage which if you add a vendor like Docusign, it allows us to capture signatures from almost anywhere and very easily and attach those signatures to files or records in a database. Seems like a big business initiative these days.

Thanks for the Box tag, Kris!

I’m with Jackie, I’d check out Docusign. And if you’re looking at a place to store the signatures and documents like Kris mentioned, we do have an integration with Docusign. Here’s more information about the app: DocuSign eSignature for Box | Box App Center
