Hi Spiceheads,
We’re looking at potentially replacing our 6 year old Palo Alto 820 firewall and I’m wondering if there is a cheaper, yet just as secure option. We would prefer to stay with PA, but are open to looking at others.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Thanks much.

SonicWall has been a good firewall product for us. Also used Fortinet (not a fan) and WatchGuard (long time ago…).

Other similar firewalls like Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls are Sophos Firewall, Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs), Netgate pfSense, and WatchGuard Network Security.

Hi. I would check out the SonicWall TZ670 or the NSA 2700 series The TZ670 is the desktop version however, you can purchase a rack mount kit for it from SonicWall. The NSA 2700 is the enterprise version/level. It is already rack mountable ready. The SonicWall is a little more economical and very solid. You can trade up from your Palo Model to the Secure upgrade SonicWall model. It would be considered a competitive upgrade so you can get a little better price. Let me know if I can assist further

Is there a different PA model that anyone can recommend?
Thanks!

Maybe the PA-455 depending on the specs but also Sophos are very good. On thing to look at is that with brands like Fortinet and Sophos who also have switches and AP’s they have a single pain of glass to manage them all
