What ports does network scan use? It seems that machines with the Windows Firewall in an active state will not report to Spiceworks.

Greetings,

Spiceworks uses port 135 for WMI. If you have your Windows Firewall enabled Spiceworks will not be able to obtain the network information. To allow Spiceworks through the firewall use the following command: c:> netsh firewall set service remoteadmin enable

Excellent, thanks. The small command line noted in the link did the trick. Great product!

I’m glad to hear it
