Good afternoon, all!
I have a pretty important question to ask you. How are you pricing your MSP and IT service offerings?? Not sure where to start?
Well first, do you understand all of your costs:
Cost of delivery
- Cost of your tools
- Cost of your techs’ time
Cost of selling
Typical sales cycle
Outsourcing Considerations
So which is it - per-user, per-device, flat rate pricing? Sound off!

Which ever one makes us the most money. We use all 3
I had a cold call from you guys earlier today… it makes me wonder if you found me in Spiceworks?
Cold calls… tsk tsk tsk I have never seen you post here before.

That’s starting from the wrong place.
Value-minus, not cost-plus.
If the client sees £x value from our services, we charge £x-y%.

We price according to customer need. Flat rate just doesn’t work with any of our clients. They each have a certain level of Helpdesk need, Engineering need etc., flat pricing would just alienate some of the clients one way or another.
We take into consideration cost of techs more than anything. Cost of tools is just turned around to the client period, we are not here to make $$ on tools. We give them our expertise on the tools to use but they are paying for our awesome brain power to show them what would be best for their needs.

I have a base price, however as Danielle points out each client has their own specific needs and requirements. Pricing is never the primary focus. The focus is getting what the client needs that fits their budget model for their project or support needs.
Anyone that focuses on price is a client I don’t want nor need.

Your overhead is going to be different from every one else, that being said only you could really know. Plus prices in my area won’t be acceptable in another. The question is loaded from the get go, just to many variables. Sorry but the best way is to learn by getting your hands dirty. Best of luck.
Kelly,

How awkward. We’re unsure how that happened, but rest assured, we’re looking into it. Please let me know if something like this ever happens again. Thanks!
