It’s Bacon Lovers Day! Yes, it’s a real holiday - Embrace it
Whether you’re a fan of crispy, chewy, or somewhere in between, I want to know a very important question.
What’s your preferred way to cook bacon?
- Pan-Frying
- Baking
- Broiling
- Grilling
- Air-Frying
- Microwaving
- Cooking with Water
- Other: I’m unsure if there are other ways to cook bacon, but if I missed any, share them below!
My vote is absolutely for baking bacon in the oven. I’ve found that the perfect formula is to place bacon in a cold oven, heat it up to 400 degrees for 20 minutes, and then BOOM—amazing bacon.
Feel free to share your favorite bacon recipes or tips in the comments below!

I just eat it raw, saves time

I prefer putting it on a baking sheet. Cook it all at once, less mess, easier cleanup.

I prefer baking in the oven, but can’t stand running the oven in the summer so just air-fry instead.

Back when I ate it I liked it chewy so microwave was a revelation, Nowadays my favorite way is let some one else cook it.

I understand it’s convenient but something about microwaving bacon feels wrong

I’m team baking bacon as well!
I use a baking sheet, lined with parchment paper (just to catch the grease), and then I use a baking grid on top which I find makes bacon perfectly crispy. If I’m feeling fancy, I’ll twist a few of the slices for some pizzazz.

Step 4: Have bacon with my dad
Step 5: Be happy I didn’t have to cook the bacon, and make my dad happy he got to make food for someone

I need to get one of those grates. One of the things I forgot to put on my wedding registry haha.
I always line the pan as well. On my future in-laws request I always make “fancy bacon” when we do a brunch or something.
I throw some brown sugar and paprika on it and they love it. Little sweet, little heat, and smoky meat. Yum.

There is a Slavic item called “Salo”. Basically it’s cured fatty pork that looks like slab bacon. Cold mornings with some good rye bread… sorry, pulled a Homer.

If the bacon package isn’t resealable it’s a single serving, correct?

I just got a Blackstone and honestly that’s my preferred way to make bacon now. It comes out really good and I can use the grease to cook other food in (last week I smoked some steaks in my smoker for 15 minutes and then seared them on the Blackstone using leftover bacon grease from the bacon I made for our salad
). Perhaps most importantly it also makes cleanup significantly easier, I can just scrape the leftover grease/grit to the catch at the back and don’t have any dishes to do or have to worry about finding something to dump the grease into to keep it out of the sink.

There’s a special microwaveable plate that you can use that works well for a small batch (like 4-6 strips). It works well, I used these in a deli I worked at in the 90’s. Nordic Ware Medium Slanted Bacon Tray With Lid : Target

I love pan frying it, then using the hot grease to fry eggs or hash browns. My wife is a big fan of baking it in the oven.

Team Bake Bacon. Super easy almost no clean up.
The hubbies favored method is bacon wrapped around a cheese stuffed jalapeno and smoking for 2 hours.

The “bacon-waver”, plastic holder can accommodate 24 strips of bacon! I love things that are “As seen on TV”.

We used to bake… But once we tried the air fryer, we never went back.
Unless we are hosting Easter brunch or Christmas breakfast.
