Thanksgiving is fast approaching! My friends and I have a friendsgiving every year and I always try to bring a pie. I feel like a turkey dinner is not complete without a pumpkin pie. But I wanted to try something new this year in addition to the pumpkin pie.
Does anyone have any good pie recipes or suggestions for places to buy a good pie?
Also, which pie do you think goes best with a turkey dinner?

I’m a big fan of pumpkin pie or even sweet potato pie if dinner doesn’t already include another sweet potato dish, but I feel like fruit always gets left out of turkey day dinners in favor of veggies and meat, so I always like to ensure I have some kind of fruit pie on the menu.

A nice apple crisp makes an excellent dessert!

I’d say 1 piece of each, that’s how it went when thanksgiving was at my aunts. She’d make sure we all ate until we were overfull and then expect us to try a piece of each type of pie available. That was generally pumpkin, pecan, apple, cherry, and blueberry at the absolute least. Things like banana cream and coconut cream were pretty frequent to. There was usually cookies, brownies, peanut brittle and other such desserts available also. Since the holidays is generally the only time we got to eat such things, the right answer was always as much as you could manage without throwing up

Does anyone have any good pie recipes or suggestions for places to buy a good pie? We usually get a couple of those punkin pies from Costco. They’re “decent” at best, but one easily serves quite a few people and they’re a lot more economical than buying the baby ones at the grocery store.
Also, which pie do you think goes best with a turkey dinner? Chicken Pot Pie, baby!!! Long story short, one of the Thanksgiving dinners during lockdown at the Lamo household involved only the finest Marie Callendar’s chicken pot pie served piping hot out of the microwave. Honestly, I’d much prefer that over a few of the turkeys (mine included) I’ve had in my lifetime.

Go online to the Betty Crocker website for their New York Cheesecake recipe. Add 1 egg white and some vanilla extract. Cook it the day before, using the accompanying pie crust recipe. My whole Brooklyn-born family swares it’s just like Junior’s Original.

I’ll only eat pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. Throw that apple garbage away.

My go to are a chai spiced pumpkin pie and a bourbon pecan pie.
These aren’t exactly the recipes I use, but the closest I could google on short notice:
For the bourbon pecan pie, I sweeten with bourbon barrel maple syrup.

Oh no! I’m so sorry. You deserve a better pie than that.
Pie isn’t usually a desert we would have with a turkey dinner in Ireland but I want onc with the most sugar
