Hi Guys,

I want to whitelist the particular URL from Fortinet 100D firewall, I tried google and enable “URL Filter” under “Webfilter” and made that website as allow - still not working. please advise me steps to whitelist particular urls - as im new to fortinet and im afraid to make any changes which causes any issues in environment.

Is website in question being blocked or is it getting untrusted? There are a few steps involved with allowing access to a website based on other criteria as well. If you have domain users synced with Fortinet it’s possible that user and/or ip address is winding up in another policy which doesn’t utilize that particular whitelist. It also depends on the version of the firmware. Fortinet has a really good support system most of the time, you could always create a support ticket provided you have an active subscription.

Sounds like the Web filter rule is not applied to any policies. You have to add the web filter rules you created to a policy for it to take affect. For example, if you wanted the web filter rules to apply to all external traffic you would add it to the top All → external policy.
