I loved the comic book artwork of John Byrne. Those of us who were/are comic book fans will undoubtedly know who he is. Very recognizable style. So, I wanted to be a comic book artist. And look at me now… I don’t even draw anymore. Such is life.

True story. When I was very little, my mom and us kids were in line at the dry cleaners picking up my dad’s fatigues. I went up to someone in uniform and pointed and said, “That what I want to be when I get older.” and I did become a soldier.

I wanted to be brilliant and logical like Spock, and go on adventures like Doctor Who.

Not me, but have a funny story from my brother, who ripped through at least 3 shirts pretending to be the Hulk. :slight_smile:

My twin brother wanted to be Leonardo from TMNT so bad, but I wanted to be wither Batman or a Power Ranger.

For real jobs, I thought I wanted to be a police officer, but reality caught up with me and I knew I wasn’t cut out for that.

Black because I thought it was the coolest color. Green was pretty sick thought but liking mastodons edged it out. TBF, never really kept up with the Power Rangers after the OG one.

EDIT: Ok, I didn’t read the question. Part of that is when I click on these things I am halfway at the end of the thread and have to scroll up through all the answers to get to the first post. But I stand by my answer. Whatever I had to do to get through to be one of the guys who was already done and made it to sitting in the rocking chair on his porch for at least part of the day and was done punching the clock.

EDIT2: To name a name. Bob Ross. Was that work? If it was, he had the best job. At least he looked the most chill doing it.

I’ve been in this industry for decades. I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. I do this job because I happen to be very good at it but I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s my lifes dream. Haven’t figured that out yet.

I saw a lot of adults stop playing video games. I said I wanted to be an adult that still plays video games . . . and I’m practically middle aged and I still game so mission accomplished.
