Hi, I am going to start a new business. I am just here to ask a very important question and that is related to the business promotion through social media network especially via Facebook fan pages. Guys! Tell why Facebook fan page is very important for the business?

4 Spice ups

not sure i’ve ever been to a business page on FB. When i see “like us on FaceBook” on tv, it just makes me cringe. one of which is a butter advert - it really baffles me.

I’ve just about subscribed to a few twitter pages; but that’s more for game update/server status updates than any other reason. In that respect, i guess i see social media sites as a replacement for RSS.

hope that helps - I’m sure it didn’t

I hope it will be good for promoting your business by using Facebook page…

It all depends on the audience you are wanting.

I think it is a cheap way to have advertisements. If you have 100 fans, every update gets on their FrontPage. If each of them has 100 friends, you reach10000 potential clients.

But you need to do it right. It will cost you a lot of time to keep your facebook updated.

I think that it depends on what you want to achieve. It can be good to setup a branding. The more people that see your logo/brand, the better it is. I think it is bad to start sellilng via facebook. I see in my area some fashion shops that try to sell their lates dresses/shoes/… After a few updates, you just ban them from your network…

Never use Facebook or Twitter as an alternative to your website. Share information by all means, but make sure anything about business expansion, new products etc are always easy to find on your company website. It does work well for asking questions and recieving feedback though.

Take a look at companies that do use Social Networks to good effect and steal their ideas. That’s how stuff works these days.

It’s not important at all.

Twitter is good for customer service issues, but FB makes everything bad a little too public.

I really wouldn’t go there. Facebook is great for socialising but it is totally unprofessional to have a Facebook page when you are trying to promote a (successful) business. Create a Google + page perhaps, at least then you’re audience will be more professional.

Look at these stats and tell me it’s not useful to have such a wide target audience: Facebook Statistics 2024: Latest Insights, Trends and Demographics

Facebook keeps me informed. I log on to see when my favorite local bands are playing, and I might just see an update to a page on a TV show I like telling me there are new episodes. Usually I miss the show if I don’t see this as I don’t pro-actively watch TV or check TV listings.

If you have a product which you frequently update, it’s a great way of keeping customers alert to new updates, upgrades and purchases as loyal customers will like your page, and they get updates in their newsfeed. Loyal customers are more likely to make a purchase (take a look at the Apple fanboys who buy each version of the iPhone as it comes out.)

What is facebook?

Oh now I remember… its that one place that I haven’t been to in 2-3 years now.

Use keywords in strategic locations on your fan page

Just like traditional websites, keyword optimization is the most fundamental form of on-site SEO. The most important pieces to pay attention to are the About section, Mission, and Company Description, since these areas are actually pulled from your fan page as SEO elements.

Here is an example of how a search engine would index your page:

SEO Title = Your fan page name
Meta Description = Fan page name + the About section of your page
H1 = Your fan page name
