Hi Everyone,
We use Avast Suite End Point Protection Plus in our company. When installing the latest windows update on my machine it said that the Avast was incompatible with the latest build and has to be uninstalled. I hoped that this would resolve after the update so i uninstalled but alas when attempting to run the installer again after the update it wont allow the installer to run. Anybody found a way round this yet or do Avast have a fix/updated client? I can imagine this will be chaos for other businesses when they start rolling the update.

You should have checked compatibility before you upgraded, this is quite common for major OS changes like this, not just for Avast but other AV companies too.
Typically you need to wait for the vendor to be compatible.

I just had a quick look and to be honest, the support side and compatibility list on Avast’s website could use some work, it’s not clear and not easy to search

Thankfully we’ve not rolled it out to all our users and it just on my machine. We will just have to wait i guess
Hi everyone –
It’s correct that the Endpoint Protection products are not compatible with the Windows 10 April update.
Here’s the update from our vendor page describing which products are affected ; a notification was also sent out as well via email.
@Samuel687 - The best thing for you to do at the current time is to contact your Avast vendor or partner, or Business Support , for the next steps in migration to Avast Business (if you are planning to apply the Windows update)

Hi Peter (Avast)
Thank you very much for your reply. Can we assume that the migration should be free if we still have a valid license for the next few months?
@peter-avast
You are welcome! I’ve been informed there is no cost for the migration, unless you wanted to upgrade or extend your license for example. Business Support or your partner can provide any further clarification or info based on what you need.
I also added the product migration map to the announcement here.
If you are contacting support directly (and not a vendor/Avast partner) please include “Endpoint Migration” in the subject field of your ticket

I had this happen with 1703 and Symantec Endpoint Protection. Updates that disable AV, what a great product Windows 10 is. On top of that the build update dished out a ton of shovelware games on my client PCs, disabled several settings, reverted Edge to default browser and PDF viewer, etc, etc etc. We will probably get all the problems resolved just in time to get hit with the next slop MS dishes out.
