I have mostly XP machines but I am slowly upgrading to 7. We have 5 machines running 7 and one of those 5 is running Spiceworks. I can get the other 4 machines to scan properly but about a month later, my “latest software patches” widget on my dashboard says they haven’t been scanned in a month. I then remote into the machine, get it to scan properly but then a month later, same thing. Any clues? This only happens with the windows 7 machines.

have a look through the resolving unknowns and scan error posts there are steps in there to ensure everything is set right, once thats is done let us know if the problem still exists

I will do that. However, none of the 4 machines are reporting as unknown or with scan errors on the inventory screen.

So before I rechecked everything, I did a manual “rescan” from the tools menu on the device in the inventory. All 4 scanned correctly. It just seems that all of them wont scan correctly with the scheduled scans. Any reason why this wouldn’t happen?

Is there any reason that a manual rescan works but the scheduled scan would not?

possibly network connectivity at the time of the scheduled scan set the scan to slow and the wait time to the highest value

Didn’t see this response till now. I set the scheduled scan to slow and the WOL wait time to 2 minutes. Only wait time I could find.

Ill wait and see if it scans correctly on Monday
