Hi All,

We have a couple of conference rooms in our building and I’m looking for a good solution to be able to mirror or stream devices such as laptops or tablets to our conference room smart tv’s or projectors.

Does anyone know of any good software that can allow this?

Looking for an easy and inexpensive solution if possible…

We have a lot of vendors who come in for conferences and it can be tedious trying to find adapters to hook their devices up to our displays.

Yep, something Miracast-based is going to be your best bet.

Microsoft has one that’s pretty popular: https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-us/products/adapters/wireless-display-adapter-2/p3q-00001

We use the Microsoft Wireless display adapter. They cost about $60 and as long as they have at least Windows 8 or above it’s a native thing. Not sure how you would handle Mac other than Air Play.

We’ve recently setup what was quite an expensive system in our offices, with 4 screens running on a terminal connection to a custom User interface running on Linux mint and designed from another of our companies…

The system is useful but I believe I can narrow down my take of it and make it easier for you.

You just need the functionality of a conference room, That being your video record, voice record, video stream, Voice stream,

I would really suggest something like OBS for a screen mirroring system, OBS is used by twitch streamers to record their monitors but there is a lot more functionality to that, and along with that the software is free to use, and easy to setup, I’ve been streaming with it for sometime and it might be an option for you.

Try it out here or just take a look into it:

Kind Regards

We recently setup new conference rooms. We have a local PC attached, an AppleTV, Microsoft wireless adapter, and HDMI cable. A push button box handles the switching between inputs. The Microsoft Wireless adapter works great.

we have barco set ups in many of our larger conf rooms. in the smaller ones we call huddle rooms, we just had an HDMI cable run into the wall, and the TV auto turns on when plugged in and then auto turns off after a minute of no connection.

the less things to get lost the better you are. but I would recommend barco for sure!!

We currently use both Google Chromecasts and Microsoft Wireless Display Adapters.

Both seem to work well from laptops (as that it what we primarily use. The Microsoft adapter does have its moments though! It seems that if Windows Updates have been installed it stops connecting - and also it needed a firmware upgrade recently too which kept failing.

All sorted now and working well again.

HTH!

We have Polycom conference rooms and use Crestron Airmedia for exactly this.

+1 for the barco clickshare. It’s seriously great. The dongles themselves already have the software preloaded on them, so when you plug it in it will act like a storage drive and you can run it from there. Never had a user have an issue after the first time training.

Google Chrome cast will do the Job or something a-like for business

For new Macbooks that only have usb-c, will the barco work if hooked up through a converter?

I went with Mirroring 360 from Splashtop. So far it seems to work well.
