So, I’ve found several similar thread but none (yet) have exactly what I need, so here goes,

This week we got new printers in the office, I’m trying to configure “Workflow Scanning” on 2 XEROX WorkCentre 5955 and one Xerox WorkCentre 7855.

I Have a share. Lets call it "\server\scan$" with subfolders like “\dept\new” and I have a “service” account that shows full access to the share, we’ll call it “Service1”

I can set it up “any way” that works. The old machines used FTP settings, so that is what I tried first. Usine the Account/Password and a repository that looks like: " "\server\scan$\ dept\new" The settings save fine, and… the printer gives one of 2 errors depending on the exact config I use Either:

  • “Login failure. Check user password and/or setups”
  • “Failure transferring job to network server.”

If we can get the system working with “our choice” of protocol we’d like SMB but at this stage we really just need it to start working as we have been “down” in this regard for a day now.

The server is Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and the 5955 System Software Version is: 073.091.075.34540

Any ideas, or “step by step - this goes here guides” out there?

3 Spice ups

The share you described looks more like SMB, not FTP.

Did you try googling “xerox workcentre smb setup” ( XEROX WorkCentre - Google Search )

The first response would have the step by step instructions your looking for: www.office.xerox.com/support/dctips/dc03cc0314.pdf

Even if the administrative interface is different, the required fields and concepts are the same (server, path, account credentials)…

Well… after several false starts one of our “US server team” got it mostly working…

I’m awaiting their documentation. I should get it after our 5 yr lease runs out and we have to do this again… I’ll report back in 2021…
