Hi,
I have a server, 2012R2, which is set to update via WSUS using group policy.
It all seems to look okay, except there is no day\time in the update settings on the server.
On other servers it is grayed out and states Wednesday 3:00am.
How can I certify that the server will update at the correct time according to the GP settings?
Thanks,
BC

So are you saying that you have set the day/time settings in the Group Policy, and you’ve linked that GP to the server’s OU, but you just want confirmation that it’s going to apply the settings correctly?
This is what I normally see:

This is what I am seeing on this server:

Did you make changes recently?
you can run gpupdate /force on the Server to pick up GPO
Is the Server in the right OU where the GPO is being applied?

What update policy settings did you put in the GPO?
Done a bit more research and I think 2012 doesn’t show the day\time because it runs at every Maintenance window, which is everyday, which is rubbish.

It should depend on the settings you put in the GPO. For example, I selected option three on “Configure automatic updating” to automatically download but only notify for install. If you want it to automatically install then you select option 4 and either check the box to install during the automatic maintenance window you mentioned, or you enter your own schedule.
As far as getting confirmation goes, I don’t know if the server will tell you what time it updates if you select option four and enter your own schedule, but at least you can override the maintenance window.
