Maybe I have missed this one, but when I do a scan Spiceworks keeps reporting that the host it is installed on is offline. Obviously this cannot be the case. This is on a Windows 2008 server upgraded from 5.3. No other changes were made, Windows firewall is off, and it was scanning fine before the upgrade. Any ideas?

Andrew,

First off, if this is a production installation, I highly recommend reverting back to 5.3 now so you can minimize data loss. 6.0 is still in beta and not quite ready for a production environment. If this is on a test machine, please disregard.

With that being said, which version of the beta are you seeing this on? You can tell by mousing over the little pepper icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.

It’s my lab machine, not our production one. The version is 6.0.00893.

Andrew,

Did you upgrade from a previous beta?

Connie

No, it was running the production version of 5.3.

Version 6.0.00893 fixed the OFFLINE issue for me (and i was running the previous beta.)

Does it resolve in DNS and can you kick off a new Scan ?

Yes, it resolves in dns and running a new scan still shows it offline.

Hey Andrew,

I’ll PM you for your log files.

Thanks

Has anything been resolved with this issue or are there any updates?

I have not heard anything sent I sent in my log files…

Hi Andrew,

We’re still working on some more changes to the ‘offline’ check. We made a few more changes in 6.0 but some additional changes will have to wait for a patch (One issue that I have been seeing is that some devices will display as ‘offline’ when scanned with invalid credentials). Bottom line is I’m not 100% sure that your issue will be resolved with the 6.0 release.

If you could let me know if you still see this issue with 6.0 I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks for testing the beta!
