May be mis-remembering, but didn’t the old system open clicked posts in an new tab? I miss that default feature. When it open in the same window I lose my place in list of posts. Especially when I’m using a custom search… thanks.

You can open a link in new tab by middle-mouse clicking a link in Windows. I don’t remember the old site doing it by default.

Middle mouse would be my go to, also, middle mouse clicking a tab will close it, this also works on file explorer, files and folders.

Thanks, aware of the middle click.
So not a feature that will be added :man_shrugging:

Who knows, the site is only a number of days old.

If you want it for only this site, you’ll need to wait and see if support offer this option.

If you would like this for any site you are on, not just SW, but don’t like the middle-click option, you can configure Edge to do this (Chrome, FF and other browsers may have this option too).

  1. Open Edge and click on the three dots located at the top right corner.
  2. Go to Settings → Default browser → Internet Options → General Tab → Tabs
  3. Under “Open links from other programs in:”, make sure a check mark is on “A new tab in the current window”.
  4. Click “Ok” to save.

I would also edit your topic and add the below tag, so it’s in the right place

There is a open in new window option, under profile pic → preferences → interface, but it is only for external links I think, not internal.

But are you aware of CTRL left click?

As others said, you already have this, middle click and ctrl click.
This allows people that want it in the current window to keep it that way and those that want it in a new tab to have it in a new tab.
I use a site that opens links in a new tab every time. VERY ANNOYING.
