A new product called the DJI Osmo Nano has just surfaced in the FCC database — and if the name is anything to go by, it could be DJI’s smallest action camera yet.

The “Nano” label suggests something ultra-compact, and the timing couldn’t be more telling. Products listed in the FCC usually launch within weeks to a few months, making this filing the clearest sign that DJI is ready to make waves in the small action cam market again.

DJI’s last attempt at going compact was the Action 2, a modular camera praised for its versatility — but ultimately shelved in favor of more conventional designs like the Osmo Action 3 and the most recent $270 Osmo Action 4.
The Nano could be DJI’s answer to the likes of GoPro’s Hero 11 Black Mini and Insta360’s GO 3S, both of which pack impressive stabilization and video capabilities into thumb-sized bodies.

The FCC listing for the Osmo Nano — model numbers ON001 and OD001 — doesn’t reveal much beyond basic connectivity specs. But insiders speculate the camera may bring back a magnetic mounting system, making ON001 the camera unit and OD001 the display unit. Rumors also point to improved heat management and advanced AI stabilization — all in a truly pocketable frame. That would make the DJI Osmo Nano ideal for everyday creators, athletes, and FPV drone pilots who crave power without bulk.

And while the Nano grabs headlines, it’s worth mentioning that DJI filed the FCC paperwork for a 360-degree camera called the Osmo 360 late last year. This one could be a dual-lens device that could take on the GoPro Max and new Insta360 X5 — with whispers of a large 1/1.3-inch sensor, possibly pushing image quality beyond anything else in the 360° space.
With both the Osmo Nano and Osmo 360 potentially launching soon, DJI appears poised to stretch its Osmo lineup at both ends — going smaller and wider than ever before.
