Work on Split of Christianity and Judaism

[edit]

Split of Christianity and Judaism is an important topic on the history of Early Christianity, but many sections are blank and it currently has a start class rating. I can start looking for sources but currently am backloaded in my current life, if anyone else wants to start filling in details it would be much appreciated. RfC on reliability of a source concerning religious literary work

[edit]

There is an ongoing RfC concerning the questionable use of a source for criticism of a religious literary work, but for which that source makes several historical errors, and also makes theological/doctrinal assertions which she is, by her own admission, unqualified to do. The source is not being used for the author's literary criticism expertise, but rather for her theological/doctrinal assertions. Please comment. Arkenstrone (talk) 19:18, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Arkenstrone, in the future, when sharing links to RfCs, please only share a short, neutral description of the RfC. Don't present your argument here, suggesting how you want interested editors to vote. That is WP:Canvassing and is not appropriate. Alyo (chat·edits) 18:29, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback. Will do in future. Arkenstrone (talk) 17:47, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for letting us now about the RFC but like Alyo said keep them neutral and with only a short description. In this case it would have been something like: There is a open RFC involving a source for criticism and religious literary work. Anything much more and it will look or seem not neutral. Got it. Arkenstrone (talk) 17:36, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Article needing urgent attention

[edit]

Theism is a level 4 vital article. It is also a very commonly used word in various religious/philosophical debates. Despite all of this, the article is in an abysmal state, being rated as "start-class" (the second lowest rating on the Wikipedia content assessment scale). This article would greatly benefit from some improvements. Brent Silby (talk) 22:36, 9 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting topic to translate from pl wiki: Christian spirituality

[edit]

Right now this is just a redirect here (en wiki). Seems like a major and important concept. Pl wiki article has decent density of inline citations: https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duchowo%C5%9B%C4%87_chrze%C5%9Bcija%C5%84ska Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 00:45, 16 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lead image for Christianity article

If anyone is interested, a discussion has been started at Talk:Christianity to discuss changing the lead image of the article. Anyone is welcome to participate. If consensus is not reached within WikiProject Christianity, a broader RfC might be in order. 🌳 Balsam Cottonwood (talk) 04:28, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New editor needs help

[edit]

Looking at [1] I see numerous problems, including misunderstanding of dab pages, some OR, etc. See alsp Draft:Indian Christian Unity Forum. His user page sis an autobiography, which of course is not how userpages are meant to be used. Clearly a good faith keen editor. Doug Weller talk 16:25, 2 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I want to start contributing new material to our articles on books of the Bible, and I would strongly prefer sticking to the NRSVue when appropriate. Does anyone know precisely whether the NCC/Friendship Press's copyright policy, as regards to the "up to 500 verses with attribution" etc.[2] license, is compatible with direct inline quotation in articles? I'm not sure, even though it seems like it should be straightforward. Remsense 🌈  12:07, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
