
Semiquincentennial Commission
Who We Are

The Semiquincentennial Commission was created by the Nebraska Legislature through LB 275 in 2021, and consists of seventeen members, including the Director and CEO of the Nebraska State Historical Society. The purpose of this commission is to develop programs and plans for the official observance of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The commission will work with the United States Semiquincentennial Commission and other agencies and organizations to execute commemorative events and implement educational activities, events, and celebrations related to the 250th anniversary.
Upcoming Meetings

In accordance with the Open Meetings Act, the Semiquincentennial Commission will meet virtually and in person to conduct business at the Nebraska State Historical Society Headquarters building, Capitol View Room, 1500 R Street, Lincoln, NE 68508, on Thursday, April 24, at 3:30 p.m. Central Time.
