In 2018, the Veteran population was estimated to be more than 20 million, with nearly 11 million Veterans aged 20-64. In February 2021, the Veteran unemployment rate was 5.2%, up from 4.9% in January. Many more are likely underemployed or not employed to their full potential. Some studies estimate nearly one-third of Veteran job seekers are underemployed.
On the other side, many employers are interested in hiring Veterans. Veterans bring a wealth of transferable skills, experience, leadership and dedication to an organization and are often looking for a new mission.
Veteran Job Board
In an effort to connect more Veterans to meaningful careers, RallyPoint utilizes a Veteran Job Board that is focused on connecting employers with job-seeking Veterans.
Businesses are invited to post a Veteran job announcement for free. VA and RallyPoint are working together to share Veteran job listings with as many Veterans and their families as possible.
Veteran Career Q&A Event
Veterans interested in new career opportunities or entrepreneurship resources are invited to a Veteran Employment and Entrepreneurship Q&A event hosted by VA on March 24th 3:00 – 4:00pm ET using the RallyPoint platform.
ASK A QUESTION to top Veteran employers, like Walgreens, USAA, US Postal Service and so many more. If you have questions on how to start a small business, the VA Office of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization and Small Business Administration (sba.gov) will be answering questions as well.
The pandemic has only exacerbated conditions for unemployment and underemployment, and VA is partnering with groups such as RallyPoint, Chamber of Commerce Hiring our Heroes, Walgreens, and America’s Corporate Partners (and more!) to be part of the solution to get Veterans back into suitable jobs for their communities and families. Department of Labor’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOLVETS) also has great resources for employment to include apprenticeships and employment resources for military spouses: VETS | U.S. Department of Labor (dol.gov). VA’s employment resources are listed at https://www.va.gov/careers-employment/.
Visit the RallyPoint Q&A event page for a full list of Q&A participants and employers.

VA has been a great experience and assistance to me. When I need assistance I go to secure messaging, state my concern and usually have a reply the next day. I have only praise for the VA.
