Paul Piticco has a new, trans-Tasman title with Live Nation.

With the announcement Wednesday, June 4th of the concerts giant’s ambitious new venue in Western Australia, another piece of news that was simply waiting to be spotted: Piticco is now director of touring and venue development, Live Nation Australasia.

“It’s probably just more aligning with what he’s been focusing on,” explains Alex Klos, Live Nation’s president, Australasia. “Paul’s obviously always been one of our key senior promoters in the business, but he’s always had a very strong passion in the venue development space. And he spent a lot of his time on that.”

Piticco was a co-founder in Brisbane’s The Triffid, which opened for business in 2014 and in which Live Nation bought an interest, and has played a similar role with the Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall and Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall, both part of the LN’s portfolio.

Brisbane’s leading independent independent music scene-builder of his generation, Piticco is coming up to 10 years’ service with LN. He and Jessica Ducrou formed Secret Sounds Group in 2016, and soon after sold a controlling interest to LN.

Live music is “a passion of his,” Klos tells The Music Network. “So his title really just more reflects what he’s been doing rather than an actual role change as such.”

With the twin-leadership of Piticco and Ducrou, Secret Sounds Group was one of the largest live music enterprises in Australia, representing Splendour in the Grass, Harvest Rock, Falls Festival, Secret Sounds Touring, Village Sounds booking agency, Secret Sounds Connect commercial rights and creative agency, North Byron Parklands, The Triffid venue in Brisbane, and other assets.

Powderfinger and live music brought Piticco and Ducrou together.

Piticco, then manager of the Brisbane rock band and founder of Dew Process and Secret Service Artist Management, launched Splendour in 2001 with Ducrou, then agent for Powderfinger and who two years earlier had established Village Sounds.

Village Sounds presented the festival until 2016 when it merged with Secret Sounds and became part of the company along with its touring, artist management, PR, publishing and label divisions.

The Secret Sounds Group business would expand into all areas of live music, and in 2020 the agency set up operations in New Zealand.

As previously reported, Ducrou exited Secret Sounds Group in mid-2024. Later, with the launch of the independent Cornershop Agency, the Village Sounds brand ceased to exist within the LN umbrella.

Piticco has been instrumental in securing and shaping Northbridge Music Hall, a new 3,000-capacity live entertainment space for the city of Perth.

Doors are expected to open on the venue in the summer of 2026-27, and book more than 120 shows in its first year.

Northbridge Music Hall is “set to become a cornerstone of Perth’s cultural landscape and a dynamic space for live entertainment,” remarked Klos and Piticco in a joint-statement.

“Designed to welcome both rising talent and world-class performers, it’s an investment in the city’s creative future and we’re excited to collaborate with the local arts community to create new opportunities for both performers and fans.”
