Timothy Leary Biopic

It’s been a rumor for some time, now the news is confirmed. According to Variety (subscribers only), Miramax is developing a biopic of Timothy Leary for the bigscreen after snapping up rights to the upcoming tome “Timothy Leary: A Biography” by Robert Greenfield this week. for Un Certain Regard

This is official, Richard Linklater will present A Scanner Darkly at the 59th Cannes Festival in France, May 17-28 2006. The film will not be in competition for the festival’s highest honor, La Palme d’Or, and won’t appear in the famous Out of competition list but it has been selected to compete in Un Certain Regard. This section complements the Official Selection. Its aim is to bring filmmaking with a distinctive viewpoint to the attention of Cannes audiences.
