Silent Drill

Without a word
The Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon is based at the historic Marine Barracks in Washington, DC. Members of the Platoon are hand picked from all over the Marine Corps, based on the ability to carry out precisely orchestrated rifle drills with no verbal instructions whatsoever. It is a truly impressive thing to watch, featuring rifles soaring high into the air between Marines. The Silent Drill Platoon performs all summer at 8th and I, and large crowds regularly pack the parade grounds to witness this grand tradition. The Silent Drill Platoon also tours regularly.
