Biography

TRAINING: A typical day of training consists of jiu-jitsu, wrestling, striking, and strength/conditioning. 2-3 sessions a day.

When and why did you start training for fighting? In 2010, I had my first amateur MMA fight. I had competed and won numerous grappling and Jiu-Jitsu tournaments over the years. I was learning how to be a boxer in 2009. On a challenge from my Dad, I competed in the 2010 Western States Police and Fire Games, and won the Boxing gold medal. When I came home I asked Trevor if I could put it all together and compete in MMA.

What ranks and titles have you held? Purple belt in BJJ, Prime Fighting Heavyweight Champion, Full Contact Fighting Federation Heavyweight Champion. Full Contact Fighting Federation 2011 Fan Favorite Fighter.

Do you have any heroes? No heroes, but people I admire. Gene Simmons and Arnold Schwarzenegger - both men are proof that if you work hard and have a desire for greatness, you can do anything.

What does it mean to you to fight in the UFC? I DID IT!!! The goal has always been to see how far I can go. This is a great accomplishment. I could not have done it without all the love and support from all my family and friends.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes, no degree earned.

What was your job before you started fighting? I am a correctional officer for the Washington State Department of Corrections.

• Pro since 2013

• Two wins by KO, two by submission (RNC, armbar)

• Holds win over veteran DJ Linderman

• Three first round finishes

• Had 3-0 amateur record – all three wins by KO
