It depends on what the contracts you signed said. Either read them yourself or retain counsel to help you understand them. It's not a bad idea to read them before you sign them, too.

Typically, you would apply for adjustment via a consulate outside of the US. However, if you're in the US and you're still within the allowed stay of the VWP / ESTA, then you can send an application to USCIS while in the country.

It starts with proper service and proof of it. You then have to wait 21 or 28 days, depending on how you served the person.

Who knows. Best thing you can do is contact your senator and representative to push for it to become law. Most often when a bill becomes a law, there is a set date when it becomes law. Yes. However, if you are required to do any work during this 30-minute break, you must be paid for this time and your employer cannot deduct it.
