DU Follow-up Program

Established in 1993 by the VA Central Office, MEDU’s Depleted Uranium (DU) Follow-up Program, at the Baltimore VA Medical Center has continued to provide clinical surveillance to Gulf War I Veterans most affected by DU exposure, those who were victims of DU friendly fire. Accomplished through biennial in-patient surveillance, the MEDU Surveillance Center team actively follows 85 Veterans involved in these incidents.
